Leaf art

Autumn has come and gone, and Winter is now upon us, but we have been lucky to still have some lovely sunny mornings in the Braybrook gardens.

Last week our little Sprouts collected leaves from the gardens and made some beautiful tree pictures using what they had found. As our group was quite young we had drawn tree trunks on the paper to give them some direction, but I’ve seen some gorgeous pictures that have been made by older kids who use the different shapes and colors to great effect.

This is definitely an activity I’ll redo with my son. We had lots of fun collecting the leaves and talking about the different trees, and colors and shapes, and he had a ball sticking them all down.

What you need:

  • Paper
  • Glue (we use School Glue/PVA)
  • Paintbrushes for gluing
  • Leave/Sticks/Sand

Suitable for ages: 18 months + (with supervision)

Sprouts feed some Very Hungry Caterpillars!

Oh no. Braybrook gardens are overrun by caterpillars. Very hungry caterpillars!!

It was glorious sunny morning at Braybrook Sprouts today. Soooooo exciting to have so many new families!!!

We sang our name song so we could get to know all the names of our new friends, read the Very Hungry Caterpillar and then made some of our own, as you can see here 🙂
